The key to our reductive print starts with the scan. The scanner captures all of the detail from the original. Every mark, brushstroke, fine line, smudge and incidental as well as the peaks and valleys of the piece are captured and reproduced to simulate the depth of the original when printed.
• Era: 1582-1666. Frans Hals was a Dutch Golden Age painter who specialized in group portraiture and genre works. Known for his loose and painterly brushstrokes Frans Hals was instrumental in the evolution of 17th century group portrait painting. Frans Hals informed the impressionist movement with Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Édouard Manet and Gustave Corbet learning from Frans Hals technique. Frans Hals has his own Museum the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem. Frans Hals artwork hangs at The Louvre and The Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as other museums across the world.
• Framed in an antique style frame, created as a replication of a found vintage frame. The frame was selected to complement the artwork and place the work into a historical context.
