• Era: 1868 - 1944. Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita was a graphic artist working before World War II. His cohorts include M. C. Esher. During the war Samuel and his wife were persecuted for being Sephardic Jews by the and sent to Auschwitz where they were killed. After the war M. C. Esher went to de Mesquita's home to recover his works to be preserved.
