• The reductive prints give the illusion of texture while maintaining the integrity of the original work of art. In other words - they are the flat version of an original. The key to our reductive print starts with the scan. The scanner captures all of the detail from the original. Every mark, brushstroke, fine line, smudge and incidental as well as the peaks and valleys of the piece are captured and reproduced to simulate the depth of the original when printed.
• Era: 1643. Painting previously attributed to Albert Eckhout. It is still unclear whether Jasper or his brother Jeronimus Becx painted the portraits. Both worked and lived in Middelburg in 1643.
• All artwork is printed, framed and finished in California.
• Framed in an antique style frame, created as a replication of a found vintage frame. The frame was selected to complement the artwork and place the work into a historical context.
