In the Fall we’ll be re-doing our guest bathroom, down to the studs and I’ve started to gather the pieces I want to add back in. I fell in love with this tile! Because of the cost I couldn’t do the whole shower so I ordered 1 box to do the niche. It’s beautiful tile, very delicate! The first sheet I lifted out to inspect lost a couple of pieces off the mesh backing. I don’t think it was something that happened during shipping. The box of tiles was carefully placed in a larger shipping box that was filled with styrofoam peanuts. It arrived about a week after ordering. It’s very heavy.. Jaye. White Bear Lake, MN. I received a sample of these tiles from Apollotiles and wanted to share my honest first impression. The first thing I noticed was the packaging. It was very secure and the tile arrived in perfect condition with no cracks or damage, which is really important for something like this. The design is beautiful in person. The blue tone is soft but still stands out, and the matte finish gives it a more modern and elevated look instead of something overly shiny. The basketweave pattern adds texture and makes it feel more custom. Even as a sample, the quality feels solid and well made. The porcelain has a nice weight to it and does not feel fragile. Since I only received a sample, I have not installed it yet, so I cannot speak to long term durability or the installation process. But based on the look and feel, it definitely gives a high quality impression. Overall, it looks really good and feels like a great option if you are going for a clean and elevated tile design.. A unique blend of solid tile and terrazzo in a palette that evokes days at the beach, the Kobe Fishscale mix terrazzo look matte porcelain mosaic tile adds a sense of movement wherever it’s installed. Designed and made in Italy, the birthplace of terrazzo, Kobe uses modern 3-D printing technology for a contemporary take on a time-honored style. Timeless terrazzo goes contemporary in this collection of large-format porcelain tiles, including Moorish-influenced fish scale and fin motifs. Designed and made in Italy, Kobe honors the rich history of terrazzo—the blending of marble chips and clay invented in the 16th century—while reimagining a classic with modern 3-D printing. The result is a color-body porcelain tile with subtle texture and a handcrafted, artisanal look. Terrazzo may have originated in Renaissance Italy, but it’s been embraced worldwide ever since, from a midcentury metro station in Stockholm, Sweden, to George Washington’s Mount Vernon home to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Interior designers love it for its ability to blend with almost any style from traditional to transitional to contemporary. With its unique patterns and colors, Kobe can be subtle or bold, playing a starring or supporting role with equal ease.
