The Emery white handmade glossy terracotta tile is a testament to the beauty of tradition. These elongated subway tiles are made using centuries-old techniques. We were Inspired by Guastavino's exquisite tile arch when we create our Guastavino tile Collection; Guastavino was a Spanish architect and builder. Based on the Catalan vaults he created the Guastavino tile, a "Tile Arch System" patented in the United States in 1885 and used for constructing robust, self-supporting arches and architectural vaults using interlocking terracotta tiles and layers of mortar. These are gorgeous, and I absolutely love them! They kind of took forever to arrive, but they all came together and all in one piece. There were no broken tiles, not even any cracks, chips, or scratches. I’m very pleased and quite impressed considering they came in packing peanuts (I hate packing peanuts, but they worked). The shade ranges and colors are beautiful. I love the white base that incorporates several shades of grey. The photos are one of each color and from the same box. I hope it shows the various colors and shades of each. They are simply stunning and elegant and I love the matte finish. I was afraid I wouldn’t like that, but I do! My project may require more than what’s here but I have other ideas, such as making a bathroom countertop I hope I have enough for it! If not, I’m sure I can come up with something.. Nicole. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very surprised to find out that these tiles are real marble and not that fake stuff you get at most stores. It's thick, heavy, has smooth clean cuts and a slightly rough back to help with adhesion. Unfortunately for me, some other projects came up and I had to put this one on hold temporarily, but I got the tiles at least arranged and rested 1 layer behind my stove to get an idea what it'll look like. Some will require cutting but i was already expecting that. I gotta say, I like the look even with 1 layer down and can't wait to see what it looks like fully installed! I was originally just going to do the oven backslash, but I feel like I'm gonna end up doing my entire kitchen wall with these. I wish I could rate the ease of installation but the quality, look, feel and the fact it's genuine marble is enough for me to give 5 stars.. Hasthisonebeenchose_8496. Fri Dec 06 2024
