This pillow features Verdure tapestry with a knife-edge finish. Inspired by an antique French screen and based on artwork that was hand-drawn in our studio, Verdure tapestry is a lush mid-scale foliage design that is rooted in tradition but relevant today. A luxurious tapestry weave with lovely tonal variations and a stonewashed finish, this fabric has magnificent dimension and a wonderfully soft hand. The pillow includes a feather/down fill insert and hidden zipper closure.

Marly is a linen velvet, woven in four chains on complex looms featuring a lush, all-over foliage design. The light relief effect is created by the different methods of treating the velvet: cut and uncut. The fabric is particularly suitable for upholstery. This velvet is inspired by the tapestry "verdure" of the period and named after Louis XIV’s preferred castle located near Paris. The landscape architect for Château de Marly had created paths through the woods lined by trellis in order to contain the exuberance of the robust trees that filled the grounds. Pulling inspiration from these wonderful woods and tapestries of the time, Colony created the beloved Marly design. Marly is in a coordinating linen blend fabric and is offered in sophisticated, two-earth tone colorways.

Ridge edge is a true classic verdure tapestry of deep lush foliage that is given a new dimension by its washed treatment. This finish both softens and lifts the wool for a unique tactile effect. To create a tapestry, multicolored yarns are set in the warp and then the colors are blended at a Belgian mill. In order to create the clear blue colorway in addition to the classic moss colorway, two different warp sets were used. Blue Shadow’s content is 53% wool and 31% cotton, while Moss is the reverse at 53% cotton and 31% wool.
