Hours and hours are spent by a ceramic artist to painstakingly form, pinch and shape the porcelain clay into these master forms which are not only beautiful and unusual, but have the structural integrity to maintain their shapes when fired. The coup de grace is the extreme variation in subtle color and opacity of the reactive glaze - a range from dusty browns and grays to clear golden citron.
The piece arrived very quickly and the quality was what I expected. However, the coloring was different from what I expected. The online photos showed a rust color veining, but in person it was more of a "dirty, earthy green" color veining. I am still hoping to make it work in the room, but the rust color would have been perfect, so I'm a little disappointed.. Lori. Dallas, TX. Fri Mar 22 2024
