Woven patterns are the eye-catchers of the new Rosenthal Kumi line. Inspired by artisanal handcrafting, such as producing baskets, leather handbags, and furniture, Kumi focuses on the delicate look of hand-woven fabrics. The line consisting of bread and butter plates, breakfast plates, dinner plates soup plates, cereal bowls, and mugs, is made of silicate porcelain, a material that is resistant to breakage and impact and is also slightly transparent. The very flat rim and the outside of the bowls remain unglazed and accentuate the lively and delicate woven structure.

The love of life, family, friends and good food has inspired COSTA NOVA to create fine stoneware collections that combine quality and design with the best in ceramic craftsmanship. The brand produces innovative and sustainable stoneware, made from the best natural resources in Portugal. We embrace "handmade" and preserve our European heritage in the manufacture of our stoneware collections, bringing to the table and to the home unique and elegant pieces that suit perfectly in today’s way of living and are able to last for generations. COSTA NOVA was born in a small Portuguese fishing village, near the Atlantic Ocean. Nowadays, carrying Portugal's name and heritage all over the world COSTA NOVA is present across the 5 continents, in prestigious department stores and boutiques, hotels and renowned restaurants. Using the best natural resources in Portugal, COSTA NOVA products are made in a single firing system heated up to 1180 degrees C (2160 degrees F) which creates a unique ceramic body with a special bonding between the clay and the glazed surface. This original formula explains why our stoneware is so durable and resistant to both thermal and mechanical shocks. In addiction, our team of designers, technicians, modelers and craftsmen are constantly developing original shapes and colors, all the way to truly unique designed and handcrafted pieces. COSTA NOVA sees its products and operations as part of a long-life cycle and is committed to taking better care of the community and of the world. The effort to go green and to minimize our impact on the environment is (always) a work in progress. As producers, we commit ourselves daily to protect the environment, avoiding unnecessary harm through the resources we use and the products we manufacture.

These bowls are named for how often (almost comically) you'll use them. That's it, bases covered. Table's set and ready for the in-laws, dinner parties, or quickie weeknight takeout meals.

These very solid and well-crafted bowls are great for large individual salads. I also have them in the color Amaro and think they look better in that color. Beth. New York City, NY. Sun Sep 28 2025
