However, with "In.Gredienti", which has been designed by a chef, the focal point becomes the plates’ functionality. Form follows function. The highly individual plates have been designed especially for differing meal requirements. For example, all set elements tilt slightly forward which means that most meals can be eaten using only a fork. The pasta plate has a small hollow in the edging precisely for this purpose, which makes a spoon redundant. This hollow is also a feature of the large dinner plates. In this case, the hollow is used for thickened sauces, to stop them from running on the plates, keep them warm, and ensure that they only come into contact with the food itself should the diner so wish. The concept embodies the trend for more individuality as well as that of celebrating food. The delicate pastel colors emphasize the romantic vintage touch of the shape and can be perfectly combined. The triumph of the "Maria" shape began in 1916. The service was named after the wife of the company founder Philipp Rosenthal, who married 35-year-younger Maria in 1916. "Maria" stands for porcelain history and table culture. Presumably created as a replica of a silver tea service, this polygonal dinnerware shape with the characteristic edge relief in the form of a fruit garland became the most extensive Rosenthal service. His hand-drawn design appears more linear because there are bigger gaps between the individual lines. A new modern, urban, and simplistic design is brought to the classic TAC in mix and match, with matte and shiny surfaces and shimmering metallic parts. The design is supplemented by color and façade elements taken from the Rosenthal am Rothbühl porcelain factory, which was designed by Walter Gropius. For this, the Rosenthal Creative Centre took photographs of pieces of the legendary exposed concrete butterfly roof and placed them on a wall plate with a 3D effect. The collection’s accentuated red tone, which is depicted on the glass plates and as a dot on the porcelain, was inspired by a railing at the factory.
