This beautiful handwoven thick shag rug is made from 100% New Zealand wool, using mill spun yarns. Made in India, the yarn is locally dyed in the traditional vat dying method. Before the first wash, the back of each rug is mildly burnt with hand-held flame emitting stoves. The rugs are given two rounds of rigorous washing, to provide the softest comfort underfoot. The finishing process includes hand shearing, with a unique and exaggerated one-sided tassel fringe. Each tassel is twisted and rolled by hand into bunches with a knot tied at each end, for a unique hand-crafted appeal.
