Artist Commentary: There is a private school in my little town that was established in 1865 and they have purchased acres of land around their campus that are not open for development. I relish these pieces of land and I feel so fortunate to live right across the street from one of these parcels, where I often take walks and paint. This painting was done plein air on the path that abuts a pine forest and which ultimately leads to the school. I have walked this path in every season but Fall in New England is still my favorite time of year.
