A distinctive late XVIII century mirror featuring a classic Greek-Key design. The top panel exemplifies the Roman-Greco influence on the Adam period after the discoveries at Pompeii and Herculaneum.
This mirror has a simple frame with leaves in corners and a beaded fillet near the mirror plate. The decorative top features a center rosette with leafy scrolls around the center. Swags of berries and leaves go over the mirror plate and continue down the top sides. Previously from the Historic Savannah Collection.
An exemplary example of classic design. A simplified center rectangle frame with an outer frame, richly decorated and gilded. It has an open space between the 2 frames.
