Emma McCartney was born in Tuolumne, a small town in the California foothills near Yosemite National Park. She studied textile design and oil painting at a local community college and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. For her, art is a way of communicating, expressing herself, and connecting to her thoughts and others. Emma finds inspiration mainly from nature and emotions. While she likes to use all mediums, her favorites are oil, acrylic, and watercolor. She enjoys being outdoors, playing music, painting, singing, writing, and spending time with friends.
