Handmade from wool using a hand-knotted technique, this area rug sports a charming mismatched stripe pattern in hues of light blue and ivory. Its modern look is warm and welcoming, while the plush 0.8" pile height feels great underfoot. Subtle distressing adds that must-have, lived-in look straight out of the box. Our favorite detail is the tassel fringe on each end. Plus, it's offered in an array of size options, so it's even easier to find the right fit. To help reduce shifting and sliding, we recommend pairing this area rug with a rug pad.
This rug is interesting. The texture is odd similar to an old animal pelt or a wool sheepskin rug. It could work with certain decors and tastes. It is not soft underfoot but rater a corse wool which i suppose would be great for colder climates. all in all well made and with what loos to be good materials.. Trystan. Weston, VT. Hand-knotted in pure 100% silk, this Tabriz style rug represents a graceful addition to the Modern Classics collection, inspired by our team’s experience in the rare antique and vintage classic patterns of the most celebrated families inspiring designs akin to this spacious. The play of the silk’s natural sheen with this rich, classic pallet of hues brings out the definition and finesse of the graceful curvilinear floral pattern, complementing the soothing sense of movement and depth in the field and border with a tasteful juxtaposition of reserved and elegant rug appeal—a brilliant Persian rug inspiration achieved by our most reputed long-standing partner loom in India. Complementing the play of the light with the silk’s natural sheen, the intercepting variations of color and pattern capture the look of Shabby Elegance, graceful wear consistent with the look of a classic piece, further completing the look of a traditional Tabriz rug and the ideal traits of the venerated family. About the collection: Since establishing our trade-only showroom in New York over 20 years ago, the interest in modern and contemporary flooring has been equal parts motivation and inspiration for Josh, who has long invested efforts innovating material and pioneering the designs we add to this aspect of our collections. To that, Josh Nazmiyal’s passion for the history of design has inspired our growing geometric, abstract, and neo-traditional designs with exciting additions, particularly our Homage and Mid Century collections standing as pillars of the collections. The Homage Collection from our classic style sub collection enjoys inspiration from Josh’s love of European rug sensibilities with a new take on distressed Shabby Elegance. The Mid Century collection, too, draws influence from icons of the 1950s in its growing selection of patterns, both the effort of refining large-scale graph, texture, and color over three years and collaborating with classic and current designers who’ve embraced the style as a new face of modern.

Handwoven in wool originating from Afghanistan circa 1950-1960, this vintage Kilim connotes a mid-century adaptation of a vase floral pattern in distinctly rich burgundy and crimson red colorway, playing naturally into earth tones of brown completing the portrait of rich, naturalist imagery. Connoisseurs may note a mild resemblance to 16th- and 17th-Century Persian vase patterns in the lattice depiction, though the more rectilinear inclinations of this pattern draw on vintage Turkish sensibilities with a variety of arguable cultural nods. Designers will note the interception of the subtle, tasteful abrash of the field brown with the pattern and the intriguing way the dual senses of movement play together, offering a slightly more lively look into an otherwise historic, very mature appeal seen in this traditional rug. About the Collection: Antique rugs have been in Josh’s resume since he began in the industry almost 40 years ago when he was already recognized for one of the largest oriental rug collections in the United States. Each piece in the internationally recognized volume was handpicked for rarity, and of course aesthetic and beauty, now complementing one of the widest varieties of the Persian rug and Turkish rug collections with the utmost attention to individuality and care. Because of Josh’s position in the wholesale rug industry he’s been responsible for promoting a number of collections throughout history, from breathtaking signature Tabriz, Sultanabad, Kerman Lavar, Agra, and Oushak classics to the more unsung jewels of the luxury industry. Vintage has also been synonymous with who we are since our beginning, particularly for our unparalleled Kilim collection, but with the rise of Mid Century collection the term vintage carpet has become very popular—especially exciting because often times many of the vintage carpets have also been treated, washed, dyed over, sheared, and modified—and has created a very successful category. We’re especially very proud of our vintage Kilims and Turkish rugs curated for our expansive collection of both area rugs and runners alike. Isabelline maintains our own facilities for cleaning and restoration exclusively for carpets we’ve sold to ensure their lasting beauty and care long about a piece leaves our collection.
