Handwoven in a wool flatweave, this Scandinavian flat weave rug is from a particular line of our Scandinavian flatweaves called Smart Loom, known for its intricacy and an interesting contemporary approach to gradation with geometric patterns. On the Design:  This new flat weave reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of undyed natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion.  This subtle intricacy both brings out the movement and pays homage to a traditional Scandinavian weaving technique alike.
