Octagon Orange Wool Rugs

This is a handwoven flatweave wool area rug with a traditional oriental design in rust with blue and ivory accents. It is woven flat on a loom with no pile, so it lies thin and slides easily under doors and furniture. Sizes in this listing: 5'6" x 8', 9' x 12' and 10' x 14'. It works in a living room, bedroom, dining room or home office. Made in India. Care: vacuum without a beater bar or shake it out, blot spills right away, and use a rug pad to keep it from sliding.

The Antique Caucasian Late 19th Century Soumak Flat Weave Tribal Kilim Rug is an exceptional wool piece dating back to the 1870s. This rectangular flatweave rug showcases the robust weaving traditions of the Caucasus region with a durable structure and intricate reverse side. A rich indigo field serves as a dramatic backdrop for three interconnected octagonal medallions filled with complex geometric figures and stylized zoomorphic elements. Rendered in natural dyes of terracotta, rust, and ivory, the design features a repeating border of stylized octagons and stepped diamonds. With a low 0.25-inch pile height, this small scatter size rug is ideal for layering or defining compact spaces. This masterful display of tribal artistry reflects a nomadic heritage through its bold, highly defined geometric patterns.
