Black Wool 12' x 15' Area Rugs

One of our most popular original designs for almost a decade, the Malta Handwoven Wool Rug has a softly textured feel and subtle herringbone pattern. A designer and editor favorite, it's made entirely by hand. Its slightly weathered effect will lend a touch of coastal charm to your space.

Great rug in our coastal bedroom. Moves a bit underfoot so need a good pad. Feels good on feet and isn’t too coarse. Variety of colors woven throughout so works with alot of styles.. Monika. Michigan. Fri Jul 31 2026

Make a bold statement in your contemporary space with this area rug. With its array of thin stripes forming a geometric display, this rug's modern look boasts beige and black hues to anchor your furniture. It's hand-tufted from wool with a high 0.75'' pile height that's just right for low-traffic areas, where it can cushion your feet – think bedrooms and offices. Although it comes with a cotton and latex backing, we recommend adding a rug pad underneath to keep it in place.

I love this rug and it was very affordable as far as rugs go. It is softer than another wool rug I’d purchased on here. It smelled for a few days and tufts of the wool just come out, the geometric lines aren’t as clean anymore. It arrived as pictured and I like it in my living room.. Anna. Wed May 06 2026

A lively accent for any room, this indoor area rug combines a contemporary aesthetic with dynamic glam style. It takes a fun leopard print and creates a fun ombré-like effect, while beige and black tones set the stage for contrast and vintage charm. Comes with a cotton backing for additional stability.

Beautiful, true black and pure white rug. The rug is thick and very cushioning feel to walk on. The pattern appears as a subtle stripe. This wool hand-knotted area rug pairs a warm ivory ground with a simple black diamond lattice, delivering a timeless, high-contrast look that suits both modern and bohemian interiors. The gently tonal wool surface adds depth to the pattern, keeping the design soft and inviting rather than stark.

This rug is beautiful however, there are a few issues. One is that it is highly shedding, which other reviews have also mentioned. I’ve vacuumed it four times and filled up my Dyson canister every time. I’m hoping that this will resolve with time, as this goes away with time. The other issue is that there is an area where the yarn is higher, and it appears there was an attempt to repair it in the back. I will contact customer service to figure out how to resolve it or possibly return it. I do love the look of this rug, though!. Kelly. Sandpoint Idaho. Thu Sep 24 2026

This rug is nice, thick, and mostly what we thought it would be. The color .. So from some angles it does look black but from most other angles its more of a charcoal or dark dismal blue. The rug laid flat almost immediately other than the inner most rolled edge. That should flatten in a few days. That being said my daughter likes the look of it anyway :). Adrianne. Owasso, OK. Wed Jun 22 2022

I like it but it really does not look like the photo. I have to get used to the loops of the rug - almost gives it a crocheted effect. It’s nice but much brighter than I expected and wasn’t really what I was hoping for. Non refundable so I will get used to it and hopefully, like it more in the end.. Elizabeth. Newburgh, IN.
