Based on a 16th Century Spanish rug, curling dragons in the border were replaced by acanthus scrolls. A ground of olive and celery greens is overlaid by motifs in gold, straw, and camel. This hand-knotted cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Knotted with a complex yarn made up of several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs. Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA. Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets. Use with a pad
