Love love love this rug! I bought a new marine blue sofa set for Christmas, and was looking for a rug that would look good on our dark brown wood floor, with yellow/beige travertine and other yellow/beige accents in this room. The rug is so thick and fluffy and warm! The blue would look good with true navy, but our sofa set has a bit of green in it (like a very deep teal) and this rug was perfect. The yellows/golds are very very subtle but just hint enough to work with our gold/yellow/beige accents. The main color is a true ivory/cream and it also has very subtle hints of light gray. This rug would look equally good in a contemporary, modern, rustic, or traditional home, in my opinion. For a traditional home, it will shine in the more "casual" spaces of the home. In a modern or rustic home, it would look equally good in formal or casual spaces. We set it up 24 hours ago and so far, very little shedding. It arrived folded, not rolled, and when we unfolded it, it was perfect - no rolled edges or other issues to contend with. Can't say enough positive things about this rug. I love how thick and fluffy it is, love the colors for what I wanted, and the quality seems great. Worth the extra money to get what I wanted. Thanks Perigold! Update: Still love the rug, but unfortunately, it is not holding up. The surface wool that gives it the "cloud" look has worn off in places which is changing the look of the rug over time. This is so elegant and lovely. Although it is a 'solid' color, like human hair it is made of many fine threads of different colors including a subtle gold throughout. It will go with anything because this creates depth, dimension and texture. It is very soft to touch. Although the strands are long, they are woven thick enough to cover the bottom. You do not see the backing at all. The only negative was an initial musty smell which went away after airing a bit - I rested it on a couple of luggage racks with the ceiling fan on. Overall, I really like this rug. Pros: It is extremely soft, thick and fluffy. It is most definitely a handmade and 100% natural wool rug. Not a wool blend. 100% real wool! Nice texture. The two shades of brown are warm colors and go well together. Cons: This rug is very fibrous and it sheds, but not excessively so. I expect that the shedding will resolve after it is vacuumed a couple of times, because the rug is very well made. Although most of the wool is uniformly dyed, there were a few strands of wool here and there that were still white (the wool’s natural color). I had a great idea though! I bought a brown fabric marker and colored the white strands so they would blend in. It worked! The white pieces are no longer noticeable and blend right in with the rest of the rug.
