Taupe Area Rugs

Like sun-baked ruins along the Mediterranean, the Sandstone Taupe rug exudes relaxed sophistication. A mellow taupe field sets the stage for watercolor washes of coral, aqua, and lavender—tones that feel both nostalgic and now. Painstakingly hand-knotted from hand-spun wool-viscose yarns, the rug marries centuries-old craftsmanship with a light-infused palette, promising to age as gracefully as the artifacts that inspired it.

Good quality construction. Very nice, soft colors, though the background taupe is somewhat darker than expected and there is more yellow/gold than expected, creating a warmer overall look. The weaving pattern has faded horizontal striping, similar to the very inexpensive rugs that are everywhere today, which makes it overpriced in my opinion. The dimensions are also off, not a lot, but enough that it doesn't work well in my space (9'1"x 11'9") but that length also includes a total of 3" of fringe which makes it too short for my room. It's hard enough to risk buying rugs online, but it's very frustrating when ACTUAL dimensions are not provided.. Patricia. Jacksonville, FL. Fri Jun 19 2026

This rug showcases a subtle and sophisticated interpretation of the traditional Oushak design. The base color is a light taupe or beige, creating a neutral and calming backdrop. The motifs, rendered in soft pastels such as pale blue, light coral, soft yellow, and hints of muted green, evoke a sense of tranquility. The central area features large, abstract floral elements that flow harmoniously, while the border, slightly more ornate, echoes these motifs on a smaller scale. The overall design has a weathered, antique feel, giving it a timeless and elegant appeal.

Very pretty rug with rich colors and high quality look and feel. I was looking to replace a jute rug for easier slide of chairs and this fit the bill perfectly.. Lee. Trussville, AL. Thu Aug 14 2025

This Oriental rug features an intricate border along with eye-catching floral motifs inspired by classic Persian rug designs. It comes in rich, contrasting taupe and teal blue tones to complete this traditional look for your space. Handmade from wool, this indoor rug has a 0.63" pile height that's great for low-traffic areas like your bedroom or home office. Even though this rug has a cotton backing, we recommend pairing it with a rug pad sold separately to help keep it in place.

I ordered two of these runners. They appear to be more of a steel blue rather than a teal color as described. One is slightly darker than the other, so color may not be consistent. They are still nice and I will be keeping them.. Kevin. Pearland, TX. Wed Jan 21 2026

This jute-blend area rug is power-loomed in Egypt. Each pattern is created from a high-quality scan of a vintage rug. A team of graphic designers then perfects the pattern and colors to closely resemble the original rug. The result: a textural and versatile piece that looks authentically antiqued. Allow for a slight variation in size, up to 5%, for this rug.

Gorgeous in person. Nicole. Monroe Township, NJ. Wed Sep 09 2026

This indoor area rug introduces a casual, textured foundation that instantly updates your home decor. It features a thin chevron pattern that creates subtle movement across the surface without overwhelming your space. Hand-tufted from stain-resistant wool, it provides a soft, cushioned touch underfoot while handling daily wear in your busiest rooms. The minimal design easily coordinates with bold accents or grounds a more neutral setting. It also includes a cotton and latex backing for extra structural stability. We recommend pairing this piece with a rug pad to prevent slipping.

Subtle but stylish!. Anonymous. Mon Jun 22 2026

Evoking weathered monastery floors, the Stone Taupe rug grounds any room with its earthy base while surprise sparks of sapphire, marigold, and coral animate the field. The understated background highlights the intricate tracery of Oushak motifs, letting color take a supporting yet memorable role. Hand-knotted from hand-spun wool and viscose, this rug delivers the tactile character of heritage textiles alongside a palette curated for today’s interiors.

Hand knotted in a Turkish-style weave using 100% premium hand-spun wool, this perennially popular rug remains in a special class all its own! While colors range from classic traditional colorways to updated modern tones more in keeping with today’s tastes and lifestyles, these timeless patterns and motifs retain the unique characteristics so prized in antique ushaks.

This rug is very pretty, if a bit lighter than the photo. Very subtle colors with a pale coral color. Thought it was too pricey at the original price but it went on sale. Unfortunately it didn’t work for our space and there is a fee to return it. The bag is not reusable- dirty and taped up to death. No way to open and save it.. Anonymous. Tue Jun 23 2026

Updated-traditional design featuring popular fashion colors and a number of classic floral motifs with casual erased effects. The Michael Amini Star Rug by Nourison presents a brilliant interpretation of modern design. Drawing inspiration from natural landscapes and architectural styling, these abstract rugs make a major statement through their dynamic interplay of fashion-forward color palettes and shimmering accents. Star is hand-tufted, using a cut and loop construction that creates a 3D effect, and is made from a luxurious blend of wool, lurex, and silk-like Luxcelle. Inspire calm with this abstract rug from the Michael Amini Star collection by Nourison. Its linear motif, presented in taupe and ivory, mimics the ebbs and flows of a hazy skyline, with subtle bursts of solid color designed to draw the eyes. Shimmering accents that shift with light create a sense of movement, adding a unique sense of depth to your living room or bedroom furnishings.

Absolutely stunning! We love this rug. To be honest, I wasn’t aware of the glittery accents - my fault for not reading more closely - but we really like them. We have a city view and feel like they echo the light from the buildings as the sun sets. It’s quite thick and dense - we aren’t getting a pad to go with it. Highly suggest.. Alice. Nyc. It's a very nice rug and I am keeping it. Good quality and I like the design. My only comment is the blue is not a true blue - it has a slight teal tone. I thought that might be the case due to the photo and called Perigold cust serv to ask. She "consulted the designer" and came back and said it is a true blue. But that isn't really the case. I think it still works in my space so keeping it.. Joanne. Lincolnshire, IL. Mon Feb 19 2024
