Rag Weave is typically made in Nepal using our Shakti Weave with silk, but this rug was made with Lama Weave in 100% wool. It is likely they were produced for a commercial interior design firm intended for a hotel or elevator lobby. We call such rugs "lonely custom rugs" because while they did not work for the original customer or project, we hope they find a home with someone that will love them for what they are, gorgeous one-of-a-kind sizes of one of our best Walz designs. It's possible that the original customer decided they could not live without silk, or they needed the actual size to be larger. Tufenkian Tibetan all wool Lama Weave is preferred n high traffic commercial spaces. The pile height meets the under one-half-inch ADA requirement and Lama has also been tested for drag/resistance to wheelchairs, etc. Why two rugs? It's probably the plan was to use one and keep the other on hand to rotate when the first rug is being cleaned.

Additional Features

Design style: Striped.
Patterns sometimes change: Our extremely handmade rugs are made with as much care as possible. When choosing a rug, please be aware that slight pattern changes may happen, but the rug will still look beautiful! In other words, a 3x5 may be slightly different than a 12x16.
Actual size may vary a little: Our extremely handmade rugs may be of a slightly different size (up to 3 inches). This is due to the beautiful hand-knotted and hand-tufted nature of our rugs.
How to choose a rug: To determine the right rug size for your space, consider the size of the room and the furniture groupings your room contains. This grid shows some common rug sizes in relation to a typical sofa. Always start by measuring your room and your furnishings.
Cleaning and care: Vacuum regularly. Loose threads should be trimmed with a scissor (do not pull!). Rug protectors are recommended. If your new rug is exposed to the sun, it is a good idea to rotate it regularly to prevent uneven wear. Blot spills with a clean towel (white is best). Cleaning the entire rug should be handled by a professional rug cleaning service.
