Hand-knotted in a special blend of Ghazni wool, this rug is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s custom-classics Burano Collection—inspired by antique and vintage tribal rugs, Kilims, and textiles.A rich brown field and border underscores geometric patterns and tribal motifs—most prominently the repeat of red bird illustrations, calling back to old-world folk art and similar works of rustic charm. Admirers of the craft will further appreciate an especially soft, comfortable texture and beauty inherent to the Ghazni wool that underscores this piece. It’s an intentional contribution to a classic for a more contemporary level of comfort, and one of the many beauties that makes this collection a sophisticated, smart new language in design.
