This rug is a new addition to the flatweaves in Rug & Kilim’s award-winning Scandinavian rug collection. Made with handwoven wool, its design is inspired by mid-century Swedish minimalist textile designs of the Rollakhan and Rya weaving traditions. On the Design: This new flat weave reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of undyed natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a subtle nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. This particular rug enjoys geometric stripes in tones of gray, blue, beige-brown and ivory white, with intricate variations in the color from the aforementioned weaving style. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this proprietary technique of ours that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.Custom Projects:The pricing for our rugs is calculated on a per-square-foot basis and applies to the standard sizes noted.
