Made with handwoven wool, this rug is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions. On the Design: Admirers of the craft may admire our Swedish flatweave rug with an exemplary blend of wool and exotic yarns complementing the varied hues with a striated, abrashed look.Keen eyes may admire the geometric pattern inspired by Sigvard Bernadotte, in subtle tones of gray, brown and beige—offering exceptional pagination and movement in a modern scale. Connoisseurs may admire this proprietary technique of ours that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style. Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic. His Scandinavian Collection is a contribution to that style, and a renaissance for its designs with more comfortable, current techniques.
