Made with hand-knotted wool and silk, this 6x9 contemporary rug joins the European Collection by Rug & Kilim—drawing inspiration from the historical ‘Medici’ design. On the Design: This contemporary design presents an elegant reinterpretation of the classic Medici damask pattern as a reimagination of the Renaissance decorative arts. The field displays floral medallions rendered in varying intensities of red and pink, creating a subtle ombré effect that adds remarkable depth to the traditional design. Admirers of the craft will appreciate that each motif emerges with exceptional clarity while maintaining the soft, atmospheric quality and the varied saturation of the pattern creates an almost three-dimensional quality, as each medallion seems to float above its richly detailed ground. This contemporary design’s monochromatic palette transforms a classical Italian pattern into a statement piece for today's refined interiors.
