Hand-knotted in wool and silk, this 8x10 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Modern Collection, and represents a new series of custom-capable contemporary designs. On the Design: Keen eyes will appreciate the play of gray and red stripes on the black-brown background of this modern piece. Equally innovative in its use of colors as its contemporary design sensibilities, it makes for a smart marriage of movement and comfort. Admirers of the craft will note the sense of novelty in the fine details, as well as the vibrant contrast in the colors that lend an added sense of depth and dimension to the keen eye. It’s a meticulous work that achieves these elements with a more reserved palette and still creates a comfortable, livable design as well as an intricate one.
