Made with hand-knotted wool and originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960, this 8x12 vintage Kars rug is from an exceptional mid-century curation of Turkish rugs in Rug & Kilim’s collection. On the Design: Particularly special is the rich saturated color, where beige-brown and cream white tones are among the stars that underscore a play of geometric medallions and patterns. There’s an exceptional yarn at work here, and some of the most delicious and earthy colors alike for a tribal Shabby Elegance work of its period. Furthermore, there’s finesse in the texture that only adds to the charm of the piece, which is among the most modern-minded mid-century Turkish Kars rugs we’ve seen of its provenance—let alone of its versatile size as well.Condition: This vintage Turkish Kars rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
