This vintage 5x6 kilim is a mid-century Qashqai tribal rug, handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960.On the Design: The mid-century kilim is divided into vertically banded segments, each meticulously defined by a sequence of contrasting patterns and hues. On either side, there are geometric stripes with tribal motifs within them in varying colors—creating a sense of movement and energy while maintaining the symmetrical balance of the overall design. Connoisseurs will admire the technique, in which tribal weavers combine multiple panels into one piece with a repeat pattern. This -style flat weave is a bright, comfortable choice of rustic charm with a natural sense of movement, and vast design applications therein.Condition: This mid-century Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin, and is ready for the floor.
