Originating from Turkey circa 1960-1970, a vintage art deco rug from a celebrated Turkish artist, entered rug and kilim’s coveted mid-century Pasha collection. The rug beholds a mid-century modern vision wrapped in classic art deco aesthetics which manifests in a multicolor diamond pattern with a hook-like motif on each crossing. Prevailing hues include a muted pink with beige-brown, red, purple, and blue among the vivid spectrum. Lively yet sophisticated, a healthy piece appreciated by collectors for its exclusivity and design inspiration. Connoisseurs will note gentle floral allusions in the geometric lattice patterns, beautifully highlighting the skill and shabby elegance, the distressed appeal of this piece with a graceful charm.
