Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, a distressed-style mid-century modern rug from the celebrated artist Zeki Muren with abstract and art deco inspirations is one of his latest pieces to join Rug & Kilim’s mid-century Pasha collection. This 4'7" x 8'8" Turkish drawing of the 1960s boasts rare sensibilities in vivid colors playfully filling the frame with exuberance-a vivid, dimensionally arresting geometric pattern appealing to bold projects among vast possibilities. Carrying mild distress consistent with age and low pile consistent with the technique inherent to this style, a perfect shabby elegance choice, especially well suited for entryways and hallways yearning for a vibrant collectible. Playful, artisanal, and warm in its many appeals.
