Hand-knotted in wool, this 9x12 contemporary rug is a unique addition to the French Art Deco rug collection by Rug & Kilim—an inventive new take on the 1920s style moderne, with geometric patterns in the style of a Leleu or Da Bruhns aesthetic period piece. On the Design: A play of beige, golden-yellow and rust tone orange create the uniquely vibrant look of bold, graphic beauty this rug enjoys—warm and bright hues underscoring rectilinear geometric patterns of exceptional execution. Admirers of the craft will note the adaptation of sharp patterns to this large scale and thick pile is nearly indistinguishable from the vintage and antique rugs of inspiration, save this construction’s more durable body and refined texture for the contemporary home. Its inviting texture, smart use of color, and overall sense of drama and graphic beauty all speak to the most sought-after beauties of French Deco carpets in a thoughtful reimagining of the sensibility for connoisseurs and designers today
