Made with hand-knotted natural silk, this 2x10 runner rug is a sophisticated addition to Rug & Kilim’s Block Print collection—an innovative line celebrating the artisanal charm of block printing reimagined in contemporary hand-knotted form. This piece functions as a lush, textural landscape that honors classical floral motifs through a bold, contemporary lens. On the Design: Admirers of contemporary textile arts will immediately be drawn to the moody, textural elegance of this contemporary block print-inspired piece. Reimagining traditional motifs, this design embraces a pure, rhythmic geometry. A striking, continuous grid of ice blue floral rosettes spans the expansive canvas, recalling the organic, hand-stamped charm of historic block-printed fabrics. Inside this bold repetitive framework, the field reveals a masterfully carved high-low texture that creates a remarkable illusion of three-dimensional depth and silken layers. The artisans employed a wonderfully sophisticated and grounded colorway, utilizing a lush field of deep slate gray, beige and sky blue to perfectly offset the crisp, luminous blossoms. Hand-knotted in natural silk, the dense pile catches ambient light beautifully, highlighting the subtle linear textures and subtle striae within the inner field. It is a brilliant, highly sophisticated contemporary creation—offering a tailored, architectural anchor that brings a sense of refined glamour, quiet luxury, and contemporary elegance to long corridors, expansive hallways, or bespoke design projects.
