Hand-knotted in wool, this 8x10 rug is an exciting new piece in the French Art Deco rug collection by Rug & Kilim—a contemporary ode to the 1920s style moderne, with geometric patterns in the style of a Leleu or Da Bruhns aesthetic period piece. On the Design:This piece enjoys a play of Leleu-inspired geometric patterns in green, off-white and red tones, with a tasteful high-and-low texture that lends a fabulous contemporary sense of dimensionality and depth. Admirers of the craft will further appreciate the refined texture and sharp drawing adapted to this large scale, beautifully recapturing the sense of presence and graphic beauty of this European movement in a modern, luxury quality. The tasteful abrashing created by our blend of yarns further lends a subtle, chic complement to the sense of movement as well—one of many beauties nearly indistinguishable from the vintage and antique French Deco rugs of its inspiration, save this more durable modern pile for today’s designer.
