Hand-knotted wool and hailing from 1920s China, this 9x11 antique Chinese Art Deco rug is a one-of-a-kind new curation from Rug & Kilim. On the Design: This period piece features a particularly rare design in Chinoiserie rugs of its time, where a midnight blue field underscores a pictorial pattern with some of the most unusual, vibrant colors we’ve seen of this provenance. Admirers of the craft will notes the more abstract representation of a sakura tree, floral patterns and clouds over the night sky—a more moody, yet equally regal take on the more daytime-oriented rugs known in Chinese Deco. Admirers of the craft will regard it as an extremely collectible choice, as much an artifact for historians and enthusiasts as a gorgeous art rug for designers. Condition: This antique Chinese Art Deco rug enjoys great condition for its age and origin and is perfectly ready for the floor.
