Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, this vintage 2x4 Afghan kilim and scatter rug is a new acquisition from Rug & Kilim's mid-century rugs. On the Design:Connoisseurs may admire the subtle appeal of the rug that comes from a Berber geometric design playing comfortably with the negative space in a beige brown colorway – idyllic to the Moroccan lineage of rugs. The piece innovates in design with modern geometry recapturing tribal aesthetics in a well defined primitive pattern for a clean contemporary look while maintaining cultural inspiration. A gracious carpet with a cultured personality, well suited for a wide array of decor possibilities. Keen eyes for detail will further admire the light gold and orange underscore gray and off-white geometric patterns, namely lozenge-diamond motifs keeping with the matriarchal symbols of primitivist Berber tribal style.
