Handwoven in wool, circa 1950-1960, this 5x11 vintage Afghan tribal kilim rug, is an exciting new curation in the Rug & Kilim collection. On the Design: Connoisseurs will admire the striped pattern of this design, which is reflective of signature Afghan designs. Striped pieces like this were often woven from several long, narrow pieces into one, due to the fact that the weavers had to work in smaller spaces. The usage of beige/brown and red tones create visual contrast in the patterns, and the beige border with geometric patterns draws attention to the field. Condition: This mid-century Afghan rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Furthermore, its promotional price is in support of the women of Afghanistan.
