Hand-knotted in wool circa 1950-1960, this vintage Afghani tribal rug is a new curation from Rug & Kilim. On the Design: Connoisseurs may note that this piece is believed to be a Mashwani rug—a celebrated provenance of traditional Afghan carpets especially known for their tight knotting and dark hues. Its design is a subtle play of pile and flatweave (Kilim) texture together as well, as keen eyes will admire. The colorway favors rich burgundy red, with rust, green and blue in the more present tones at play in its tribal motifs and other geometric patterns. It’s a rich, collectible piece of history and rustic old-world charm alike. Condition: This mid-century tribal rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Furthermore, its promotional price is in support of the women of Afghanistan.
