Handwoven in wool, this vintage 5×8 Kilim is a rare signature textile we believe originates in Turkey circa 1950-1960. Its design enjoys a play of embroidered tribal motifs and floral patterns within a grid atop a beige field. Keen eyes will note the signature near the center—most likely the name of the weaver or workshop behind such a personal piece. The sheer range of colors in the repeat alone remarks a thoughtful, artisan piece with a deft hand. It’s a collectible and meticulous flat weave for its period with a rustic old-world charm and country chic. This mid-century Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. It’s ready for the floor, and equally appropriate for wall-hanging projects in size and sensibility, too.
