This vintage 3x11 Gabbeh Persian rug is from the latest entries in Rug & Kilim’s rare tribal curations. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1950-1960.On the Design:This tribal provenance is one of the most primitive, and collectible shabby elegance styles in handmade nomadic rugs. Exceptional Gabbehs like this are known for thick, lush pile, bold colors and unique geometric patterns. This particular design enjoys polychromatic squares, and emphasis on reds, whites, blues and beige-browns in its distinguished, funky style. Keen-eyed connoisseurs will admire how fresh and crisp the colors remain, especially for this period of origin. An exemplar of classic charm and folk art as much as handmade rugs, with versatile size and vast design applications.Further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
