Hand-knotted in wool from Turkey circa 1960-1970, a vintage distressed runner from an acclaimed Turkish artist joining Rug & Kilim's mid-century Pasha collection. This rare, graphic piece probably draws on an abstraction of pictorials in beige-brown with black accents, playing positive-negative while enjoying both fluidity & movement. Carrying a great shabby elegance vibe in a low pile, an earthy piece of modern art underfoot exemplifies the distress. On the condition: connoisseurs may further note the play of these rustic browns and blacks with the distressed element is among the most complementary of this lineage. A natural synthesis of mid-century style and earth tones with bold accents lends an iconic look.
