This vintage 5x13 Persian kilim is believed to be a Shahsavan tribal rug—handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960. Further on the Design: The design prefers navy blue medallions on a red open field, wrapped in polychromatic borders with finely woven patterns. Keen eyes will admire an especially present light-pink accent in the many colors and sharp details this piece enjoys. This rug is one of a rare series R&K Principal Josh Nazmiyal has curated with large size and rich colors. It’s a rare flat weave for this provenance, and an exemplar in Persian tribal rugs, too. Condition: This mid-century Persian Shahsavan Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
