Originating from Turkey, this new transitional wool rug depicts an ottoman design in rich and varied colorways resembling select antique pieces. Hand-knotted in high-quality wool in a low pile, the open sand beige Mihrab field design (representing the gateway to paradise) gives dimensionality to the surrounding portrait of finely drawn eight-pointed Solomon stars, lotus palmettes, irises, and the tree of life patterns in diverse jasmine and bold. Representing the womb, rebirth, religious liberty, and eternal life respectively, the mirroring of the fine star motifs in the innermost and guard borders is complementary to the spacious but stylized middle border.
