This antique traditional rug employs a seldom-seen abundance of various oriental symbols. Hand-knotted in high-quality material, the geometric field and border designs alike feature variations of the eight-pointed star (symbolizing the womb of the mother goddess). Complemented by a rich mihrab design with both patterns (representing flame and the universe) in the field and a wrapping series of blossoms in each of the borders, both the abundance of the eight-pointed star, as well as the rotating windmill patterns to its colorways, contribute to the distinct individuality of this piece.
