Originating from Egypt, this new transitional wool rug hosts a unique combination of antique imagery. Hand-knotted in high-quality wool, the rich burgundy background gives dimensionality to the finely woven geometric portraits of lotuses, pomegranates, and general floral motifs symbolizing rebirth, fertility, prosperity, and growth in complementary pastel green and red. Accented by beige and black highlights seen in the mirrored borders surrounding an emphasized burgundy border with vibrant, dancing lancet leaves, it is unique even among newer Agra pieces to see shifted, non-centered field designs paying homage to the antique patterns with a transitional style.
