Originating from Turkey, this contemporary traditional wool kilim rug is from a distinct family of recent production, woven with a mixture of patchwork aesthetic and column-based pattern. Bright and rich arrays of red, with notes of purple, gray, orange, blue, and other vibrant hues. Unique to this piece that while many new and contemporary Turkish kilims prefer columns to complement their length, the column-based pattern is based horizontally in this piece, but also gives the inviting illusion of symmetry with the more prominent red and gray columns inviting the eye to the finesse of the perpendicular, textural patterns within.
