Handmade in wool and originating circa 1920-1930, this 3x5 rug is a rare and exciting new curation in Rug & Kilim’s collection of antique hooked rugs.On the Design: Admirers of the craft will appreciate this piece as one of the most beautiful rugs we’ve curated from this style, with an equally gorgeous and unique medallion and floral design for this craft. The rippling effect on the field in predominant shades of blue and green lends it abstract painterly sensibilities. Connoisseurs will appreciate this piece among some of the richest, most collectible works of folk art and among the earliest forms of American folk art in our field—an exemplar of folksy charm and art as much as an accent rug, from a distinguished weaving tradition of Americana with vast design applications today.Condition:This antique hooked rug has some mild wear but otherwise enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
