Made with hand-knotted wool circa 1910-1920, this 4x6 antique rug of Hachli provenance is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s curations of this celebrated weaving tradition. On the Design: Designers and admirers of the craft alike will immediately recognize the quiet majesty of this grand Hachli rug. . This distinguished pattern plays well into the mirrored border style, though the tribal geometric tree of life symbols offers a unique deviation from typical wrapping borders for a very storied aesthetic. This beautifully aged piece exemplifies the refined aesthetics and elegant scale that have come to define the best of 20th-century weaving. R&K Principal, Jahanshah Nazmiyal, regards this as a particularly beautiful example—its finer weave and delicate drawing setting it apart from many of its contemporaries. This level of artistry, especially on a scale as generous and versatile as this, is increasingly rare and highly coveted among curators today. Condition: This antique Hachli rug further enjoys good condition for its age and lineage.
