• Routine vacuuming can significantly extend the life of rugs. Vacuum thoroughly at least once a week with a canister vacuum. Use the lowest setting when vacuuming. Do not engage beater bars. Avoid vacuuming the fringes of your rug, especially those on hand-knotted rugs. Use a broom to clean the fringe. A carpet brush, sweeper, or rake can be used to remove pet hairs. Remove spills by blotting with a clean, undyed cloth. Do not rub, as this can set the stain deeper into the rug. For harder to remove stains, we recommend professional rug cleaning. Rotate the rug every few months to ensure even wear, especially in high-traffic areas of the home. Avoid direct sunlight, as this can cause the colors in the rug to fade over time.
