Composed of teal squares in center-radiating gradient shades, this textile exudes the optimistic and dynamic style that is the signature of famed Dutch designer Verner Panton. In seven rows of three squares, squares that are opposite arrangements of light and dark shades sit next to each other, creating both crisp juxtapositions and subtle gradations. Like many of Panton’s mid-century modern designs, this textile conjures three-dimensional space in a two-dimensional plane and seems to radiate a pulsing energy. The vivid teal color is striking and bold, hearkening to the psychedelic art of the 1960’s while also seeming reminiscent of the natural world.
