• The universe on a rug? With this Swedish rug, it seems someone had design inspiration from a higher place. But the rug’s swirling solar system is actually a product of the geometric patterns made famous by Scandinavian weavers. Usually inspired by folk elements, Swedish rugs have a long history that dates back to the fifteenth century. First designed as cold weather wear, they evolved into an cherished craft featuring stylishly designed textiles with modern motifs.
• Today, Swedish rugs are seeing a resurgence in popularity thanks to their natural marriage with mid-century modern interiors. Unquestionably works of art in themselves, they are also increasingly being used as wall hangings. Lending an extraterrestrial element to a space, this round round is perfectly designed for entrance ways, foyers or small sized rooms. Of course, some have said this rug is less supernatural, and more practical. It looks a lot like the favorite drink of a busy weaver - the cappuccino!.
